There now stands an agreement between the Richmond upon Thames Scout District and the 1st Hampton Hill Sea Scout Group for the provision of facilities for the Raleigh Explorer Scout Unit. It was reformed so that Scouts and Sea Scouts in the Richmond upon Thames District have an Explorer section available to them which can provide resources as a Sea Scout Group.

Without an Explorer section available, 1st Hampton Hill would not be able to provide any facilities for Scouts who reach the age of 14 and so may be lost to the Group and perhaps Scouting as a whole. Tony Davies currently holds the post of Explorer section leader and invested seven new Explorers who meet regularly on Wednesdays at the Scout Hut.
